We are always looking for new volunteers to do our many programs & services.  If there are any you are particularly interested in, feel free to submit a Volunteer Application Form to our office at 68 Carleton Street.  If you would like to schedule a time to come in and discuss current volunteer opportunities, or would like to speak one on one with one of our Board Members, feel free to contact us!

The Elizabeth Fry Society of Saint John is a community based voice for women at risk, as well as those who are criminalized as a result of their poverty, race, physical, sexual, substance abuse and/or lack of education.

Some Current Opportunities:

-Bingo @ SJRCC. (Third Monday of each month.)
-Education/Crafts @ SJRCC (Monday/Wednesday)
-One-on-One Volunteer Support Program @ SJRCC & in community
-Displays –creating and/or staffing during special events.
-Newsletter- submission of articles, poetry, artwork, etc.
-Organizing supplementary volunteer sessions.
Workshop Program- Assisting the Program Coordinator as Co-Facilitator with programming.
-Literacy, finding literacy resources, tutoring.
-Research.
-Fundraising Committee.
-Human Rights in Action Committee.
-Social Action Committee.
-Pet Therapy @ SJRCC (Wednesdays)
-Mother/Child Read Aloud Program at SJRCC (Thursday mornings, 9-11)
-Mother/Child Read Aloud Program at Nova Institution (6 times/year on Saturdays & Sundays)
-Christmas Gifts for Children Project.
-Court Work.  (Daily)
-Advocacy.
-School Program.
-Other –Suggestions welcome!

If time isn’t something you can donate, financial donations are always gladly accepted!

Rebels Committee

If you’re interested in being a part of the committee, please call our office at 635-8851 or send in a volunteer application specifying that you’re interested in being a part of Rebels 2010! Duties include: obtaining silent auction items, assisting in decision making, assistance on the day of the event, sitting on the committee, etc.
